FAST MOVING PAYMENT REGULATIONS
| |
Global sovereigns around the world are considering the impact and implications of all forms of digital currencies. Whether that is decentralised global solutions such as Bitcoin or at the other end of the spectrum, the CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies), or perhaps stablecoins, there is a lot of movement happening in this space. The discussion is now happening on many levels, but one thing is for sure - the regulators are starting to flex their muscles. In particular in APAC, where China is leading the way on trialing the rollout of CBDCs while also regulating the payment companies, and the crypto access. Wherever you sit on the spectrum of interest on this topic, it is worth considering the impact of the changing regulations while also looking at the innovation that we are experiencing at the same time. To this end the #EPA Fuse series invited David Birch to come and talk in September and he spoke about 'Industrial Crypto'. This was followed by Doug Arner who spoke about the fast-changing pace of China regulations. On October we will see the release of the EPA Asia white paper on Digital Identity in APAC. Ekata have provided some insight in the following screen print as to some of the steps that are checked in technology when we deal with clients with more advanced technology.

Hot Topic Briefing with Breakout Rooms 90 min:
Hot Topic Briefings (HTB) are presented as a 30 min panel discussion, hosted by EPAA, that brings together international thought leadership around emerging issues. These webinars bring together market experts to debate on a topic led by an EPAA moderator. In this exciting format a 30 min breakout room discussion takes place after the panel. Each breakout room sees a facilitator leading the discussion on a question shared prior to the event. The event is closed with a wrap session in which the discussion from the breakout rooms is included. Before (10 min) and after (20 min) each session is the opportunity to virtually network on our virtual platform – Airmeet The virtual platform has a visual top-down view, 2-D map comprising interactive roundtables. The platform uses video, audio, and chat functions to allow guests within the space to interact naturally in real-time, from anywhere in the world. You will be able to hop from table to table and meet new payments professionals or say hello to the ones you already know. There will be an opportunity to have those all-important one-to-one conversations on dedicated floors of the virtual space. You will also be able to see who is there and send them a private message. Hot Topic Briefings are available for sponsorship. These sessions are open to the industry. Capacity: 100+ attendees
